Pond Side Table

Tasked with designing something ‘linear,’ I was inspired in part by the types of lines created by erosion. As for the table top, at the time, I was enamoured with the sand casting process for glass, and the various effects which could be achieved. Because blue is the colour which comes through the strongest in the recycled glass kiln, it was easy to make the jump to pond imagery. The patterns in the glass are made by dried plants - as the hot glass is poured over them they burn away, leaving an impression behind.
