Hi there! I was born in Edmonton, but have moved around enough that I have had many additional places to call home. One of the consistent themes wherever I lived was crafts. Whether it was bathtub boats out of styrofoam meat trays, hand-sewn drawstring bags for birthday party favours, or construction paper princess hats, I was always working on a project. More recently, I decided to pursue this interest further by studying in the Honours Bachelor of Craft and Design program as a Furniture major at Sheridan College.
Although wood is a material which has always been dear to me, I have also enjoyed working with textiles, ceramics, and glass, both in and out of the Craft and Design program. Whatever the material, I especially love using scraps and offcuts as a way to counteract our culture of waste and explore sustainability in tangible ways.
There are just a few more important things to know about me:
-
I am most definitely a cat person.
-
Peanut butter and lemon are two of my favourite flavours (but not together).
-
I love all the colours, but green is my favourite.
